Formula 1 is thrilling once more. Red Bull’s reign has ended, and now many teams are vying for wins and podiums.
In 2022 and especially in 2023, Red Bull Racing was unstoppable. Max Verstappen clinched two world championships and won an astonishing 35 races over two seasons. At the beginning of this season, it looked like Red Bull had built another unbeatable car.
But things changed quickly. Verstappen might have won seven out of the first ten races, but the last few weekends told a different story. In fact, he didn’t win any of the last six races. During that time, Lewis Hamilton secured two victories, while George Russell, Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc each took home a win. Carlos Sainz also grabbed a victory earlier this year in Melbourne.
Wolff on the excitement in Formula 1
Toto Wolff agrees that the excitement is back in Formula 1. He said at Monza: “It’s great for Formula 1. It’s real rock and roll.” He pointed out how Ferrari had some tough weekends but then bounced back with smart strategies to win in Zandvoort and Monza.
Fans must be thrilled about these changes!
He added that it’s fantastic news for fans and the sport itself. With around seven or eight cars now capable of fighting for podiums, the competition has never been fiercer.
So what do you think about all these changes?
