Wolff Expresses Doubt Over Mercedes’ Prospects in Brazil: “Challenging Ahead”

Mercedes is facing a tough time catching up with the leaders in the Brazilian Grand Prix. This season, they’ve been trailing behind McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull, and after the autumn break, the gap only seemed to grow bigger.

In Mexico, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were left far behind Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc. Their car, the W15, just couldn’t keep up with the front-runners.

Challenges at Interlagos

The German team struggled with consistency at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. They showed promise in practice sessions but fell short during qualifying. Russell and Hamilton ended up starting from P5 and P6.

Wolff admitted that recent races haven’t gone smoothly: “The past two races in Austin and Mexico City have not been our cleanest so we are aiming for a smoother weekend at Interlagos.” Fans might think Mercedes needs to step up their game soon!

Despite these hurdles, Wolff remains optimistic about learning from each race. He said they’re focused on improving for 2025 while still trying to get the best results now. But can they really close the gap this weekend? “We know it will be difficult to challenge the Ferraris and the McLarens who have looked strong in recent races,” he shared.

So what do you think? Can Mercedes turn things around?
