Watch FIA Prize Giving Gala 2024 Live from Rwanda

The biggest names in motorsport are heading to Rwanda this Friday for the glitzy FIA Prize Giving Gala, where Max Verstappen will collect his fourth straight World Championship trophy.

It’s a particularly special night for McLaren, who’ll pick up their first trophy in Formula 1’s top category since 1998. Both Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc will be there to receive their second and third-place awards.

But it’s not all champagne and celebrations for Verstappen. The Dutch champion still needs to complete his penalty from that infamous Singapore press conference outburst. He’ll be working with young local drivers in a special program run by the Rwanda Automobile Club.

Want to catch all the glitz and glamour? You can watch it live.

The ceremony kicks off at 19:00 UK time on the FIA’s YouTube channel.

This marks the first time the prestigious event has been held in Africa, putting Rwanda’s growing motorsport scene in the global spotlight.

McLaren’s return to the podium has been 25 years in the making – a pretty remarkable comeback for one of F1’s most historic teams.

The evening promises to be a mix of celebrating this year’s achievements while helping develop Africa’s next generation of racing talent.
