Verstappen’s Talent Key to Success, Says Briatore

Max Verstappen‘s fourth Formula 1 world title was a sure thing from the start – at least according to Flavio Briatore, who says it all comes down to one simple fact: Max is just the best driver out there.

The former F1 boss wasn’t worried even when Red Bull hit some rough patches and McLaren’s Lando Norris was lighting up the track.

"I knew Max would be champion. It’s really that simple," Briatore told Formula One Magazine. "When you’re the best driver, you win championships even in tough years."

Red Bull’s car wasn’t perfect this season, but that’s where Verstappen’s talent really showed up.

His most impressive moment? Fighting his way from 17th place to win the Brazilian Grand Prix – a performance that left fans and experts speechless.

The victory puts Verstappen in some pretty amazing company. He’s now matched the four world titles held by legends Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel.

There’s an interesting parallel with Vettel, who also won his four championships back-to-back with Red Bull. But Briatore won’t pick favorites between the two champions, leaving that debate to the fans.

Looking ahead to 2025, there’s a big question mark over whether Norris can challenge Verstappen again.

"Norris has one big problem compared to Max – he’s still pretty green," Briatore explained. "Maybe even too young right now."

But don’t count Norris out just yet. Briatore thinks all the experience he gained this year could make him an even stronger competitor next season.

After all, that’s what happened with Verstappen – he just kept getting better year after year.
