Verstappen’s Championship Impact: Norris Faces Setback but Finds Positives

Max Verstappen walked away from the Circuit of the Americas with a grin, even though he didn’t win the United States Grand Prix.

After Lando Norris got a penalty, Verstappen ended up in third place and increased his lead in the World Championship, which made him quite pleased.

Verstappen’s Joy After Securing Third Place

Before Formula 1 took its ‘autumn’ break, McLaren was on a roll. Norris had a big win at the Singapore Grand Prix. Even with a solid 52-point lead, Verstappen might have been worried about his chances during those three weeks off. But Red Bull brought some upgrades that seemed to work well.

In America, Verstappen finished ahead of Norris in both the sprint and main race, boosting his lead to 57 points. This setback makes it harder for Norris to catch up with only five Grands Prix and two sprints left. Ferrari’s good performance also played into Verstappen’s hands.

Fans might think this is a turning point in the championship race.

Extending His Championship Lead

Verstappen expressed his happiness about extending his lead. “That is definitely the positive,” he said. He wished for better performance on race day but noted everyone else seemed to be either better or unchanged compared to Saturday. “I need to understand why what it was because I don’t know it,” he added.

What do you think about Verstappen’s chances now?
