Max Verstappen‘s latest racing drama isn’t happening on a real track – it’s in the virtual world of sim racing, where the F1 champ just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
The three-time world champion, who’s known for spending his free time competing in online races, got into a heated exchange with Williams iRacing Academy driver Jaden Munoz during a race at Road America.
Things got messy when the two drivers made contact multiple times on the virtual track.
The first incident saw Verstappen spin out after contact with Munoz led to a collision with another car on the straight. Munoz wasn’t happy, to put it mildly.
“Look how dumb he is. He doesn’t change, ever. He’s so dumb,” Munoz said during his live stream.
But that wasn’t the end of it. When the two met again later in the race, they crashed going into a corner. This time, Munoz really let loose.
“I knew it. This is why you’re gifted everything in your life, Max,” he fumed. “You’re a spoiled brat. You’d be nothing without your father, you’d be nothing. You’d be a nobody.”
The young Williams Academy driver was so frustrated he even labeled the clip “Max intentional wreck” on his channel.
It’s not the first time Verstappen’s aggressive driving style has sparked controversy – though usually it’s happening at 200mph on real racetracks rather than in the virtual world.
The incident shows just how seriously professional drivers take their sim racing these days. What started as a gaming hobby has become a legitimate training tool and competitive space for racers worldwide.
