Max Verstappen Heads to Brazil for New Year’s Celebration
After Christmas, Max Verstappen is taking a well-deserved break away from his Monaco home. The F1 star couldn’t hide his excitement about finally getting some downtime.
“I’m really looking forward to that, first of all. I really need it,” Verstappen admitted.
Flight tracking information from the four-time world champion’s private jet suggests he and his family are heading to Brazil to ring in the New Year.
Brazil holds special significance for the Verstappen family. His partner, Kelly Piquet, is Brazilian, and the couple has previously traveled together to the country for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Their daughter Lily has been to Brazil before, but this marks the first time she’ll experience New Year’s celebrations there.
The family jet landed in Rio de Janeiro yesterday, though their exact celebration plans remain under wraps. Kelly recently posted a beach photo on her Instagram story, hinting at a coastal getaway.
## Holiday Plans
Verstappen typically keeps his personal life private, rarely sharing details about time away from the track.
He did offer a small glimpse into his plans during an appearance on the Talking Bull podcast.
“So, first Christmas together, then on holiday with some good friends as well,” he explained. “I’m really looking forward to that, first of all. I really need it.”
After a demanding F1 season that saw him secure his fourth consecutive championship, the break seems well-earned.
