Max Verstappen might get in trouble for swearing at the press conference in Singapore.
The stewards have confirmed his penalty.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, president of the FIA, said drivers should swear less. Though he didn’t name anyone, it seemed aimed at Verstappen, whose swearing often gets broadcasted. When asked about it, Verstappen said stopping swearing is hard and suggested F1 could just avoid airing those words.
This is what Max Verstappen said in Singapore
During the press conference, Verstappen mentioned his car was ‘fd’ in Baku. Tom Clarkson warned him to watch his language. Verstappen responded, "It’s not even that bad, right? The car was not working. The car is f’d [fd]. And then, excuse me for the language. Like, come on. What are we? Five-year-olds, six-year-olds? Even if a five-year-old or six-year-old that is watching, they will eventually swear anyway. Even if the parents won’t, or they will not allow it, when they grow up, they will walk around with their friends, and they will be swearing. This is not changing anything," he added.
Fans might think this news is a bit overblown.
The stewards aren’t pleased and want more details. If there’s a penalty for Verstappen, it’s likely to be a fine .
