Verstappen Criticizes Detractors: ‘My Passport is the Issue’

Max Verstappen recently poked fun at his critics after the drama with Lando Norris at the United States Grand Prix. During an online chat with friends, he joked about what he thinks is causing all the fuss.

Lando Norris is chasing Verstappen in the F1 World Championship standings. Their battle at the United States Grand Prix was intense, as Norris tried hard to close the gap. However, Norris ended up with a penalty for overtaking off-track.

Verstappen’s Cheeky Response

After their thrilling on-track duel, people talked about why Verstappen didn’t get a penalty for going off-track while defending his position. In a Team Redline livestream, this topic came up again. Verstappen compared it to following rules in a sim racing game, saying, “We have to stick by the rules, just as we do in F1.”

One of his friends chimed in, “Just like you did in Cota! Everyone’s talking about how you didn’t get penalized.” To which Verstappen sarcastically replied, “I figured out the problem. I have the wrong passport!” He was hinting that not having a British passport might be why he wasn’t penalized.

Fans might think it’s unfair how penalties are handed out sometimes.
