Tsunoda Crash G-Forces Revealed by VCARB on ‘Verstappen Scale’

Yuki Tsunoda had a rough time during the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying.

He lost control in Q3, hitting the wall hard and damaging his car.

The crash was intense. “Our Japanese driver was on a blisteringly fast lap in the shoot-out for the top 10 places on the grid, but it came to a sudden and dramatic end when he got one wheel on the wet grass at the exit to Turn 5, totally destroying his VCARB 01,” said his team after the race weekend.

Despite how bad it looked, Yuki walked away without injuries. The crash caused a red flag, which also messed up Daniel Ricciardo‘s chances of getting a better spot on the grid. Yuki’s impact was measured at 68G, and he ended up starting from tenth place, right behind Daniel.

Compare with Verstappen and Grosjean

Verstappen had a crash at Silverstone in 2021 that hit 51G when he collided with Lewis Hamilton. Romain Grosjean’s accident at Bahrain was even worse at 53G. Fans might think these crashes are crazy scary!

After Yuki’s crash, he went to the medical center for a check-up but was found to be okay.
