Stroll’s Bid Against Ferrari for Newey: ‘Adrian is a Bargain!’

Lawrence Stroll never doubted Adrian Newey would join Aston Martin. Ferrari tried to get Newey too, but Aston Martin succeeded.

During the Miami Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing announced that Newey was leaving after nearly 20 seasons. Rumors spread that Ferrari and Williams also wanted him. Even Lewis Hamilton, set to drive for Ferrari in 2025, expressed his desire to work with Newey.

Stroll was convinced of Newey’s arrival

“I can tell you Adrian is a bargain,” Stroll said confidently. “I’ve been in business for over 40 years now. I’ve never been more certain. It’s not an investment. He’s a shareholder and a partner. So it’s the best partner I can bring into a company. We intend to be around here for a very long time together. So it’s relatively inexpensive for everything Adrian brings in a partnership we will have.”

Newey himself shared his thoughts on the interest from other Formula 1 teams. “I was very flattered by the number of teams that did approach me and I had discussions with some of those teams, not all of them. But in the end, it became a very clear and natural choice for all the reasons I stated earlier,” he said.

Fans might think this news is quite exciting!

Stroll’s confidence in Newey’s arrival shows his belief in their future success together at Aston Martin.
