Sainz Aims for Another Victory Before Departing Ferrari

The 2024 Formula 1 season is nearing its end, and Carlos Sainz‘s journey with Ferrari is wrapping up too. After four years, his seat at Ferrari will be taken by Lewis Hamilton, and Sainz will join Williams in 2025.

This year has been intense, with seven drivers, including Sainz, grabbing race wins. With six races left, Sainz is pondering over his performance and how he wants to finish his time at Ferrari.

Sainz remains eager to snag another victory before saying goodbye to Ferrari. He shared that winning isn’t just about leaving on a high note but more about his personal drive. “The first thing on my list is to try to win at least one more time with Ferrari before I leave,” he told Marca Sport Weekend. “It is something that is on my mind… because I always try to win all the races the ones I go to.”

Challenges Ahead: ‘We Need Progress’

Sainz knows the road ahead won’t be simple as he thinks about the team’s past performances. He mentioned needing improvement in upcoming races like Brazil, Austin, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi—places where they need to shine. “If we show progress there I think we could have a chance to win,” he said. But if they struggle as they did in Spa or Hungary, it shows there’s much work left.

Ferrari holds third place in the Constructor Standings, trailing Red Bull by 34 points and McLaren by 75. The autumn break ends soon, giving Sainz another shot at glory during the sprint weekend in Austin starting October 18th.

Fans might wonder if Sainz can pull off another win before switching teams.

So what do you think? Can Sainz grab another victory before his Ferrari farewell?
