Lewis Hamilton could find his winning form again with Ferrari in 2025, according to Red Bull boss Christian Horner. Despite Hamilton’s recent struggles, Horner thinks the seven-time world champion still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
But there’s a catch.
Ferrari might have their hands full managing two star drivers, with Hamilton joining Charles Leclerc next season.
“It’s about communication, being upfront with the drivers,” Horner told Talksport. He knows a thing or two about handling top talent, currently managing Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson at Red Bull.
Verstappen remains Red Bull’s golden boy. “Max is the most valuable asset in Formula 1. He’s our lead driver. He goes first,” Horner explained.
That’s where Ferrari’s challenge lies. With two championship-caliber drivers, they’ll face some tough decisions.
“Ferrari next year are going to have two drivers taking points off each other,” Horner said. “And which horse do you back? You have to back both of them, but that sometimes becomes divisive within a team.”
Despite being rivals for years, Horner sees real potential in Hamilton’s move to the Italian team.
“He may well have another resurgence in him,” Horner admitted. “He’s an emotional guy, and I think it really depends on how things kick off for him at Ferrari.”
The move to the legendary Italian team could be exactly what Hamilton needs to reignite his competitive fire.
“If the Tifosi get behind him and he gets off to a good start, then those qualities are still there. He’s still a class competitor,” Horner said.
Ferrari’s looking strong too. They finished just 14 points behind McLaren last season, and with Hamilton joining their ambitious project under team boss Fred Vasseur, 2025 could be really interesting.
The big question is: Can Ferrari handle two alpha drivers? We’ll find out next year.
