Red Bull’s Ford Partnership: Breaking F1 Conventions

Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls will reveal their 2026 cars in the U.S., paying tribute to their new technical partner Ford. The move highlights Ford’s growing commitment to Formula 1 as both brands prepare to make history together.

On January 15, the teams will showcase cars designed to meet F1’s biggest rules shakeup ever. The event marks Red Bull’s debut as an engine supplier, with power units built in partnership with Ford.

This means every future Red Bull victory will be powered by a Red Bull Ford Powertrains engine.

## A new era begins

“The launch of the Red Bull Ford Powertrains era represents not just a bold step into the future, but shows what’s possible when world-class engineering, innovation, and passion come together,” said Laurent Mekies, CEO and Team Principal of Oracle Red Bull Racing.

“Seeing the energy, precision, and scale behind this project is inspiring. It’s the culmination of several years of collaboration between two great names in motorsport.”

Mekies added that the team is “incredibly excited” to begin this new chapter.

## More than just racing

Ford’s involvement goes beyond the track, according to Jim Farley, President and CEO of Ford Motor Company.

“Since we announced our return to F1 with Red Bull, the Ford team have been working night and day to get ready for 2026,” Farley explained.

But there’s a bigger picture.

“This is about so much more than just the racing. It’s about how we use our learnings from F1 to make our cars and trucks better for our customers.”

What truly excites Farley? “What we will learn together with Red Bull will define the technologies of the future.”

## Shared competitive spirit

The excitement extends to Red Bull’s sister team as well.

Peter Bayer, CEO of Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, couldn’t hide his enthusiasm: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Ford back into the world of Formula One. With over 125 years of heritage, innovation, and absolute dedication to performance, Ford embodies the same competitive spirit that drives our team.”

The partnership brings together global brands united by their love of racing and commitment to pushing boundaries.

Choosing Detroit – Ford’s birthplace – for the launch makes the occasion even more meaningful, according to Bayer.

“As a member of the Red Bull family and together with our title partners Visa and Cash App, we see huge opportunities to connect with a new generation of fans and showcase the future of performance and mobility on a global stage.”
