Christian Horner is out at Red Bull Racing, with the team confirming he’s no longer their boss and CEO as of July 8th. Laurent Mekies has stepped in to replace him after briefly leading the Austrian racing team for two race weekends.
The changes don’t stop there.
Red Bull Racing has now officially informed Companies House that Horner is no longer a director of the team. This change took effect Thursday.
He’s also been removed from his director positions at Red Bull Technologies and Red Bull Powertrains.
The dramatic leadership shakeup comes during a season where Red Bull has faced increasing competition from McLaren and Ferrari on the track, making the timing particularly significant for the defending champions.
