A year ago, Red Bull Racing seemed unbeatable on the track. Now, things have changed with McLaren and sometimes Ferrari and Mercedes racing faster than them.
In a chat, Guenther Steiner couldn’t help but comment on Red Bull. He joked, "It’s a f***** car. Oh, I’m not allowed to say that," echoing Max Verstappen‘s words in Singapore. Max got a community service penalty for his words, which Steiner found puzzling.
Steiner: ‘Others just did better than Red Bull’
Switching to a serious note, Steiner admitted he wasn’t sure why Red Bull fell behind. "Half a year ago, everyone was upset about Red Bull always winning. Now they’re upset because Red Bull isn’t winning. It’s competition! McLaren has done great, and others have simply outperformed Red Bull."
Mario Andretti had earlier mentioned that Adrian Newey leaving might have affected Red Bull’s performance. But Steiner disagreed with blaming one person for the team’s struggles. "Blaming it all on Adrian leaving doesn’t seem right to me. The Red Bull is still good; it’s just not the top car anymore."
Fans might think it’s just part of racing ups and downs.
What do you think? Is it normal for teams to rise and fall like this?
