Red Bull Acknowledges Update Misstep: ‘Downdates’ for Zandvoort

Red Bull Racing introduced many updates in Hungary, but they didn’t work as expected.

The team hoped to close the gap with McLaren, but McLaren was much faster and even secured a one-two finish near Budapest. After the race, Max Verstappen criticized the new developments on his RB20 and doubted the updates.

Marko sees Red Bull ‘as one of the favourites’

For the Dutch Grand Prix, Red Bull did not bring any major updates. In fact, Helmut Marko mentioned “downdates,” suggesting that some previous updates were removed.

Despite recent setbacks, Marko remains optimistic about the Zandvoort circuit: “But I am optimistic. We have fallen a lot short recently. Especially qualifying will be important at Zandvoort. Together with McLaren, we are definitely among the favourites,” he said.

Fans might think this back-and-forth is quite confusing.
