Mexican F1 fans are showing incredible faith in Sergio Perez, snatching up every single ticket for the 2025 Mexican Grand Prix in just three days – even while his future at Red Bull Racing remains up in the air.
The lightning-fast sellout shows just how much support “Checo” has in his home country, where he’s become the nation’s biggest sports star.
Race organizers couldn’t hide their excitement, posting on social media: “Thank you fans! Tickets for the Mexico GP 2025 are officially SOLD OUT! We are ready to experience the energy and passion of F1 in Mexico, all thanks to you.”
It’s a pretty remarkable achievement, especially since the race is still more than a year away.
The 2025 event will be extra special – it’ll mark the 10th running of the Mexican Grand Prix since it returned to F1. Perez has raced in every single one, giving local fans plenty to cheer about.
But here’s the catch: while Perez has a contract with Red Bull for 2025, his seat next to Max Verstappen isn’t exactly secure.
Red Bull’s been pretty open about weighing their options. Rising star Liam Lawson and newcomer Franco Colapinto are both eyeing Perez’s spot on the team.
Colapinto’s even said he wouldn’t be intimidated by taking over the seat – that’s some confidence from the young driver.
For Perez, the pressure’s really on. He’ll need to pull off three amazing races to finish the 2024 season if he wants to convince Red Bull to keep him around.
His passionate Mexican fans are clearly betting he’ll still be in that Red Bull car when they pack the stands in 2025.
