Sergio Perez finished sixth at the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday, his best result since Miami. The Mexican driver feels somewhat optimistic about the rest of the season as Red Bull seems to have pinpointed the car’s issues.
“Well, I think what they’ve shown in Zandvoort was really, really strong. I think it’s been the strongest performance we’ve seen from McLaren in a while,” Perez said during a press conference in Monza. He also mentioned that Zandvoort’s track isn’t great for Red Bull due to wind conditions.
Hopeful Perez in Press Conference:
Red Bull has been struggling lately, but Perez is hopeful they can improve soon. “The biggest thing for us is that we understand now the issues with the car. We understand them. It’s just a question of how quickly and what solutions we have to fix them,” he explained. Fans might think this sounds promising.
McLaren has become Red Bull’s main rival this season, closing gaps in both championships. Perez expects an exciting battle but remains confident. “Definitely the momentum is with them. But we’re not sitting back,” he said. He believes Red Bull can still bring more performance to their car in upcoming races.
What do you think? Can Red Bull turn things around?
