Perez Criticizes Youngster Lawson’s Behavior: ‘Needs More Humility!’

Sergio Perez had a tough race at the Mexico City Grand Prix. His car got damaged after a clash with Liam Lawson, which left him without any points.

In the paddock, Perez expressed his frustration about the incident and shared some advice for Lawson. “I think I don’t have any relationship with him. I think the way he has come to Formula One, I don’t think he has the right attitude for it. He needs to be a bit more humble. When a two-time world champion was saying things last weekend, he completely ignored him,” Perez remarked, recalling Lawson’s earlier spat with Fernando Alonso at the Circuit of the Americas during both the Sprint event and qualifying.

Perez gives advice to Lawson

Helmut Marko from Red Bull had mixed feelings about Lawson’s defense tactics. After the race, he emphasized that there should be ‘more respect’ between Perez and Lawson, as he mentioned to Viaplay. In a heated moment, Lawson showed Perez the middle finger while Perez called him an ‘idiot’ over the radio.

Perez thinks Lawson is talented but needs some guidance. “It’s like when you come to Formula One, you’re obviously very hungry and so on, but you have to be as well respectful off track and on track. I don’t think he’s showing the right attitude to show a good case for himself, because I think he’s a great driver, and I hope for him that he can step back and learn from it.” Fans might wonder if this advice will help improve their rivalry or not.

Sometimes drivers let emotions take over in races; it’s like watching a rollercoaster of drama! What do you think about all this?
