Perez Criticizes Red Bull’s Direction: ‘I am Not Happy’

Sergio Perez was not thrilled with his sixth-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix.

He left Zandvoort with some valuable insights about the RB20 but was disappointed as McLaren gained on Red Bull in the constructors’ championship.

“I’m not happy; we didn’t have the pace today,” Perez said. “Our performance on medium-speed corners was weak, and we struggled with tire wear. Turns 9 and 10 were particularly tough for us. The tailwind conditions hurt us more than McLaren and Ferrari,” he added.

Perez Reflects on Car Updates

Red Bull recently removed some updates from the car, hoping to see immediate improvement, but it didn’t happen. “The good news is we now understand what’s wrong with the car,” Perez explained. “It’s just a matter of fixing these issues quickly. We know our weaknesses and strengths now. Hopefully, we’ll be more competitive at Monza.”

Fans might think this is a turning point for Red Bull.

When asked if the old floor was better than the new one on the RB20, Perez said, “There are things that will stay within the team. Our main focus is understanding the issue. We’ve lost some direction in development and are working to get back on track.”

What do you think? Can Red Bull bounce back?
