Oracle Co-Founder Larry Ellison Surpasses Elon Musk as World’s Richest Person

Oracle boss Larry Ellison just became the world’s richest person, overtaking Elon Musk with a staggering $393 billion fortune.

The tech titan’s wealth jumped by $101 billion – the biggest one-day increase ever recorded on Bloomberg’s billionaire index.

This comes after Oracle’s quarterly results blew past expectations, with the company promising even more growth ahead.

Ellison, who serves as Oracle’s co-founder, chief technology officer and executive chairman, now sits $8 billion ahead of Musk, ending the Tesla CEO’s nearly year-long run at the top of the wealth rankings.

It’s been a good week for Oracle on the track too. The American tech giant has been Red Bull Racing’s title sponsor since 2022, and the team just scored their first Formula 1 victory in months.

Almost every F1 team now has a title sponsor backing them. McLaren, the only holdout, recently announced a deal with MasterCard that kicks in from 2026.

Max Verstappen returned to his winning ways at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza last Sunday.

Starting from pole position, the four-time world champion faced an early challenge when race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase advised him to give a position back to Lando Norris after cutting the first chicane.

But once Verstappen re-passed the McLaren driver, he dominated the rest of the race.

This victory completes an Italian double for Verstappen, who also won the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix earlier this season.

It’s been a tough stretch for the Dutch driver. Despite making the podium twice since Imola, he hadn’t managed to stand on the top step until now.

After the race, Red Bull sporting director Pierre Waché admitted he wasn’t initially convinced by a crucial set-up change suggested by Verstappen.

“I was not very keen on it, at first, that is true,” the Frenchman laughed before heading off to celebrate with the team at the Italian circuit.
