Norris and Verstappen Share Top Honors in Brazil F1 Power Rankings
Lando Norris delivered a flawless performance at the São Paulo Grand Prix, earning him joint top honors with Max Verstappen in this week’s F1 Power Rankings.
The McLaren star grabbed all 33 points available across the weekend, winning both Saturday’s Sprint and Sunday’s main race after starting from pole position.
Norris received a stellar 9.6 rating from the F1 judges, who praised his command of the Interlagos circuit.
“A fortnight on from his dominant win in Mexico, Norris enjoyed another triumphant weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace,” the panel noted. “The Briton converted pole position into a Sprint win and then repeated the feat for Sunday’s Grand Prix, allowing him to extend his advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship to 24 points.”
His weekend couldn’t have gone better – the perfect answer to those questioning if he could handle the pressure of a title fight.
Sharing the spotlight was Verstappen, who pulled off what might be the drive of the season.
After a shocking Q1 elimination in qualifying left him starting from the pit lane, the Dutchman carved through the field in spectacular fashion. He even led the race at one point before securing an improbable podium finish in third place.
The judges matched Norris’s 9.6 rating for Verstappen’s remarkable recovery drive.
Former F2 teammates Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman tied for third in the rankings with 9.0 scores. Antonelli grabbed an impressive second place finish, while Bearman continued his point-scoring form for Haas.
## Verstappen Still Tops Overall Rankings
Despite Norris’s perfect weekend, Verstappen maintains his grip on the overall Power Rankings leaderboard with an 8.4 average.
Norris and Oscar Piastri round out the top three, though Piastri failed to crack the top 10 in the Brazil rankings.
The only change in the overall standings sees Nico Hulkenberg climbing into tenth place.
With just a few races remaining, the battle between Norris and Verstappen is heating up both on track and in the Power Rankings. Can Norris maintain his momentum and challenge Verstappen’s dominance in both championships?
