Norris Minimizes Impact of McLaren’s Controversial Flexi-Wing Design

Lando Norris clinched his third Grand Prix victory in Singapore, finishing 20 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen.

After the race, Norris addressed concerns about McLaren’s flexi-wing design.

Norris Talks About Flexi-Wing Complaints

The FIA told McLaren to modify their rear wing after the Azerbaijan GP. Both McLaren and Mercedes faced scrutiny for using flexible front wings, and a ‘mini DRS’ was spotted on video footage of McLaren’s rear wing in Baku.

“We haven’t changed anything on the car from last weekend or the one before,” Norris said in Singapore. “We’ve had to tweak some wings because people complained, but we still had an amazing weekend. Probably one of our most dominant ones here. So, I don’t think that’s made any difference. The car’s been fantastic for quite a while.”

He continued, “I’ve missed out on wins when I felt I had the pace and ability, sometimes due to my own mistakes and not executing well enough. But when I lead after turn one, things are more straightforward.”

Fans might think this win shows how strong Norris can be with the right setup.

Norris’ victory in Singapore now puts him 52 points behind Max Verstappen in the drivers’ championship with six races left.
