Norris Labels Verstappen & Red Bull as F1’s Toughest Competitors Ever

Lando Norris has a chance to close the gap on Max Verstappen in the drivers’ standings by seven points in Singapore.

He finished first at the Marina Bay Street Circuit and has six more weekends to catch up.

Norris knows this won’t be easy, as he trails Verstappen by 52 points. His main goal is to make the most of each weekend. “I can’t tell the future. I’m working as hard as I can, like I just said. I’m sure Red Bull and Max are as well. I’m sure there’s going to be plenty of competition until the end of the year. As a team, the only thing we can do is to try and score the most points possible, that includes trying to win,” Norris shared.

Norris: ‘Max and Red Bull were the most dominant duo in F1 ever’

Verstappen and Red Bull might dominate F1 again in 2023. Norris thinks not much has changed for them and they remain a big challenge. “I still have a lot of points I have got to catch up on, and it’s not going to be easy to do it. It’s against Red Bull and it’s against Max, the most dominant pairing you’ve ever seen in Formula 1 from last year. And that’s not necessarily changed. It’s the same team and is the same driver. So I have some of the toughest competition that I’ve Formula 1 has ever seen in the sport,” Norris added.

McLaren, however, has been performing better recently, which makes Norris hopeful. He won in Singapore with a lead of over 20 seconds ahead of Verstappen. “We are doing a better job as a team right now because my car and our car is quicker than theirs, but that’s just credit to the team doing an amazing job and being smarter and doing cooler things and creating mini DRS flaps and stuff.”

Fans might think this news is very exciting!

“That’s the game, and that’s the people we’re up against, the people who also do it and people who create these things. So, I’m working hard. I’m working my butt off to try and make sure that happens. He’s trying to make sure it doesn’t happen. So we’ll have to wait and find out,” Norris concluded.
