Lando Norris thinks Daniel Ricciardo‘s fastest lap in Singapore was fair.
Norris seemed set to get the extra point for the fastest lap, but Ricciardo switched to soft tyres and snagged it, possibly impacting the championship.
Some say Red Bull wanted their junior team, VCARB, and Ricciardo to snatch the point from Norris and McLaren as they compete against Max Verstappen and Red Bull.
Norris sees no issue with Red Bull using VCARB
In a press conference, Norris shrugged off concerns about Ricciardo’s fast lap: “That’s how it’s been in Formula 1 for, I don’t know, probably since before I was born, so there’s nothing to complain about.”
He also mentioned McLaren has done similar things before: “There have been races in the past when other people have been racing, we try to take it away from others. So yes, it was the logical thing to do, and the smart play by them. Happy for Daniel as well, that’s all.”
Fans might think this is just part of the game.
What do you think? Fair play or foul?
