Norris Anticipates Pressure from Red Bull: ‘Definitely Improved’

Lando Norris started from pole position but didn’t win the Spanish Grand Prix last weekend.

Max Verstappen took the victory again, so now Norris is focusing on Austria, a track he likes.

At first, it seemed Verstappen and Red Bull would dominate this season. But now, four teams—Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes—are all in the mix. McLaren’s upgrades since Miami have boosted Norris’s confidence. He’s just 69 points behind Verstappen in the standings. “I’m confident every weekend we go into now,” Norris said. “The car’s performing extremely well. We’re always there or thereabouts within a couple of tenths of pole.”

Can Norris Win Against Verstappen?

Since Miami, the battle between Norris and Verstappen has been tight, especially in Imola, Canada, and Spain. Even though Norris believes McLaren has speed, he thinks they’re missing something that Red Bull has. “It’s a very different layout again,” he said about upcoming races. “Red Bulls seem definitely a bit better in high-speed corners than we are.”

Fans might think this will be an exciting season with so many teams competing closely.

Norris expects a strong weekend ahead at the Red Bull Ring where he’s done well before. He got his first F1 podium there in 2020 and did well again in 2021 and last year too. “It’s been one of my best tracks,” he said with excitement about seeing all the papaya-colored fans cheering him on .

What do you think? Can Lando beat Max this time?
