Michael Schumacher & Verstappen: F1’s Most Unique Drivers, Says Ralf

Max Verstappen‘s dominance in Formula 1 has put him in the same conversation as racing legend Michael Schumacher, according to former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher.

“There’s no one like Max in Formula 1 right now,” says Ralf, Michael Schumacher’s younger brother. “That’s just clear.”

Verstappen has been absolutely crushing it lately, winning four world championships in a row. That’s pretty rare air in the racing world.

Ralf sees something special in Verstappen that reminds him of his brother Michael. It’s that ability to take a car and do things that seem impossible.

“If you look back at the last few years, there are not many people making a big difference like my brother — if you consider where he started with the car and what he could do with it,” Ralf told The Times.

He sees that same magic in Verstappen now.

What’s even more impressive is how long Verstappen has stayed on top. He’s been leading the championship standings since 2022, when he passed Charles Leclerc and never looked back.

The young champion isn’t done yet. He’ll be back on track at the Australian Grand Prix on March 16, 2025, looking to extend his incredible run at Albert Park.

And Verstappen’s made it clear – he’s hungry for title number five.

When asked if Verstappen matches his brother’s legendary talent, Ralf was thoughtful. “I don’t know,” he admitted. “Sometimes I had it, and sometimes I didn’t.”

But one thing’s certain – we’re watching one of racing’s special talents at the peak of his powers.
