Kimi Antonelli has his Christmas wish list down to just one thing – a fast Mercedes.
“Having a car that allows us to battle up front,” the young driver revealed when asked what he wants most.
Antonelli isn’t just dreaming of occasional race wins. He’s thinking bigger.
“Winning races and maybe, who knows, even fighting for the World Championship,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport. “The team is pushing hard to give us the best car, and it’ll be up to me to try and do the rest.”
The 19-year-old Italian had quite the rollercoaster rookie season in Formula 1. He started strong before hitting a rough patch mid-season.
But Antonelli finished 2025 with a flourish.
He clinched two podiums in the final races, showing everyone why Mercedes put their faith in him.
2026 Car Has Antonelli Excited
The Bologna native can’t hide his excitement about Mercedes’ plans for 2026.
He’s been keeping close tabs on the development of next year’s car, watching its evolution in the wind tunnel. What he’s seen has clearly impressed him.
Antonelli believes Mercedes could make a major comeback when the new regulations hit.
The 2026 season will bring massive changes to F1 – new engines, completely different aerodynamics, and redesigned cars from top to bottom.
It’s the perfect opportunity for teams to reset the competitive order.
