McLaren’s Piastri Makes Surprising Mid-Season Change Beyond F1

Oscar Piastri isn’t just making waves on the racetrack – he’s now stepping into the fashion world too. The 24-year-old Australian Formula 1 driver has signed with IMG Models, joining the same agency that represents big names like Bella Hadid, Alex Consani, and Vincent LaCrocq.

This move comes as Piastri is having his best season yet with McLaren.

The racing star is looking to expand his influence into fashion, part of the growing crossover between F1, Hollywood, and the entertainment industry as a whole.

He’s not the first athlete on IMG’s roster either. Tennis player Jack Draper is among several sports figures represented by the prestigious agency.

On the track, Piastri is locked in an intense championship battle with teammate Lando Norris as the F1 season heads into its second half.

The competition between the two McLaren drivers has gotten really tight. After the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the gap narrowed to just eight points.

“It’s a very tight battle, and I think it will be for the rest of the year,” Piastri told media after Silverstone. “I think Canada was summed up well; I don’t think it was the best Sunday for me, definitely in terms of pace, but I think [Austria] was probably one of the better ones.”

What’s particularly impressive is how Norris has managed to close what seemed like an impossible gap after the Canadian Grand Prix.

The British driver’s back-to-back wins in Austria and Silverstone have completely changed the momentum of the championship fight.

It’s worth remembering that Piastri is a former Alpine Academy graduate who has quickly established himself as one of F1’s brightest talents.

The battle between these two McLaren teammates will definitely be something to watch closely as the 2025 season enters its most crucial phase, starting with the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix.
