McLaren Optimistic Ahead of Hungarian Grand Prix

Mercedes has been closing the gap on McLaren in recent races.

With wins from George Russell in Austria and Lewis Hamilton in Great Britain, the point difference between the teams is now 74 points. However, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are heading to Hungary with high hopes.

Upcoming Race in Hungary:

The Hungarian Grand Prix is especially important for Norris. After a DNF at the Red Bull Ring and finishing third behind Max Verstappen at Silverstone, he trails the Dutchman by 84 points. Despite this, Norris believes their car will perform well at Hungaroring.

“I’m excited to get back to Hungary,” said Norris. “Qualifying here is key because overtaking isn’t easy, but we’ll be strong. Leading a Grand Prix feels amazing, but there’s still work to do. We’re ready.”

Piastri is also optimistic about competing for top positions in Budapest. “I’m coming into Hungary after two solid weekends in Austria and Great Britain where I felt good about my driving,” he shared. “We missed some chances at Silverstone, but our car had good speed which is promising.”

“The Hungaroring is a track I did well on during my junior series days, so I’m eager to return,” Piastri added. “Our whole team is confident and motivated going into this race.”

Fans might think this optimism shows how much faith they have in their team’s progress.

As both drivers look forward to the race with confidence, what do you think? Will they meet their expectations?
