Max’s Dad Calls Perez’s Father an ‘Idiot’ for Recent Comments

Red Bull drama erupts as Perez’s father claims son didn’t get equal treatment

Jos Verstappen has fired back at Sergio Perez‘s father after shocking claims about unfair treatment at Red Bull Racing.

Antonio Perez Garibay, father of the Mexican F1 driver, recently claimed that his son would’ve become world champion in 2024 if Red Bull had given him “the car he deserved.”

The Mexican politician didn’t stop there. He suggested that Red Bull and Max Verstappen owe their championship success to his son and boldly claimed that Perez never received the same equipment as his teammate.

Jos Verstappen wasn’t having any of it.

“What an idiot he is,” Verstappen Sr. wrote on X. “He’s always been given the same material, but he just has to step on the gas.”

The father of three-time world champion Max Verstappen didn’t hold back in his assessment, making it crystal clear that in his view, Perez’s performance—not team politics—is the real issue.

While Red Bull has always maintained both drivers receive equal treatment, the performance gap between Verstappen and Perez has been substantial throughout their partnership.

Verstappen Sr. essentially suggests that what kept Perez from championship contention wasn’t favoritism or different cars, but simply that the Mexican driver couldn’t match his son’s pace.

This public spat between the drivers’ fathers adds another layer of tension to the Red Bull team dynamics, which have already been under scrutiny throughout the season.

Neither Max Verstappen nor Sergio Perez has yet commented on this war of words between their fathers.
