Max Verstappen’s F1 Championship Odds: McLaren Boss & Betting Sites Align

Verstappen Storms Back into Title Fight After Stunning Baku Win

Max Verstappen‘s championship hopes have suddenly roared back to life after his impressive back-to-back victories at Monza and Baku.

Just two months ago, nobody gave the Dutchman a chance.

The title fight had seemed like an exclusive McLaren battle, with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris trading wins almost every weekend. Betting sites reflected this reality, placing Verstappen as a distant 50/1 longshot for the championship.

Everything has changed now.

After his commanding performance at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, bookmakers have dramatically slashed Verstappen’s odds to just 9/1.

Piastri remains the championship favorite at 4/9 despite his lap 1 crash in Baku. His teammate Norris sits second in the standings with odds of 9/4.

If Verstappen can deliver another strong result in Singapore, his championship odds will only get better.

The momentum shift hasn’t gone unnoticed by F1 insiders.

“He’s too good to be ruled out,” said Sky Sports analyst Jamie Chadwick on The F1 Show podcast. She went further, calling Verstappen “the greatest driver we have” among the current F1 grid.

Former Jordan technical leader described Verstappen’s Baku performance as simply “flawless,” believing the champion has definitely thrown his name back into title contention.

Even the McLaren camp seems worried. Team boss Andrea Stella, championship leader Piastri, and Norris have all recently acknowledged Verstappen’s resurgence as a serious threat.

With several races still remaining, what seemed impossible just weeks ago now looks entirely plausible: Verstappen fighting his way back to claim another world championship.
