Max Verstappen isn’t just thinking about his next race – he’s already planning his second career in racing management.
The four-time Formula One world champion loves helping young drivers succeed, especially in the world of sim racing. When he’s not behind the wheel of his Red Bull Racing car, you’ll often find him competing online with Team Redline.
“I just want to make sure that they have that opportunity in the real world and hopefully become a professional driver themselves,” says Verstappen. “It’s just something that has been a passion of mine since I grew up racing.”
What’s really interesting is that he doesn’t always need to be the one racing. He gets just as much enjoyment from watching others compete online and helping them improve their skills.
For the 28-year-old Dutch superstar, it’s all about spotting and developing new talent. He’s particularly excited about the potential he sees in the sim racing world, where young drivers can show what they’re capable of without needing millions in backing.
“I always said to myself, if I wouldn’t be a full-on racing driver myself, I would always try to stay in racing, but in a bit more of a management role,” he explains.
