Max Verstappen Dominates F1: Red Bull Boss Praises Excellence

Verstappen delivers masterclass in Vegas as Red Bull boss raves about champion’s talent

Max Verstappen reminded everyone why he’s a champion with a stunning win at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, leaving his team principal absolutely blown away by his performance.

“In terms of driving, what he does, I think he’s as good or better than everything we have seen,” said Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies after watching his driver dominate the race.

What made the victory even sweeter was how Verstappen seized the moment. Despite Lando Norris claiming pole position in qualifying, the Dutchman pounced immediately when his rival made a mistake into Turn 1.

From that moment, Verstappen never looked back.

He managed his pace perfectly all the way to the checkered flag, showing the kind of race control that’s become his trademark.

Mekies couldn’t hide his admiration for his driver’s talent, but also wanted to highlight the incredible work behind the scenes.

“We know we suffered in the first part of the season,” he explained. “The guys have been doing an amazing job in managing to turn around the car, and now that he’s able to fight again for the win, he does master class after master class. That’s what it is.”

The team’s ability to overcome early-season struggles has put their star driver back where he belongs – fighting at the front.

“We take it race by race,” Mekies said. “A win is a win. It’s easy to forget our difficulties. To win, you need to get everything right. And that’s how we look at it. We look at every single race.”

But there’s no time to celebrate too long in Formula 1.

“You cannot imagine a more different situation in Qatar compared to Vegas,” the team boss added. “Now everything is the opposite of Vegas. So we will reset and try to nail the weekend again.”

## Championship battle heats up

The race had major implications for the championship standings too.

Thanks to the double disqualification of both McLarens, Verstappen suddenly finds himself much closer in the title fight.

He’s now level on points with Oscar Piastri, while Norris still leads the championship – but his advantage has shrunk to just 24 points over both drivers.

With just a few races remaining, the championship battle is suddenly wide open again. Could Verstappen pull off an incredible late-season comeback to defend his title?
