Red Bull junior Arvid Lindblad dominated at Hampton Downs this weekend, scoring an impressive hat-trick in New Zealand’s Formula Regional Oceania championship.
The young Brit was unstoppable on Saturday, claiming the fastest time in the opening race at the northernmost circuit on the calendar.
Sunday proved just as successful. Despite finishing third in the morning’s reversed grid race behind local hero Sebastian Manson and Nikita Johnson, Lindblad still managed to clock the fastest lap.
He saved his best for last. In the weekend’s final race, Lindblad pulled off the perfect performance – pole position, fastest lap, and the race win.
It’s a crucial victory for the Red Bull prospect. He’s now won three out of the first six races this season, building a commanding 25-second lead over second-placed Zack Scoular.
These wins aren’t just about trophies. They’re stepping stones to Formula 1.
The championship leader gets 18 super license points – crucial for making the jump to F1. Second place earns 14 points, while third picks up 12. For Lindblad, winning this championship could pave his way to an F1 seat as early as 2026.
The action continues next weekend when the drivers head to Manfeild’s Chris Amon Circuit. With nine races still to go, Lindblad’s looking strong – but anything can happen in motorsport.
