Lewis Hamilton Addresses Disappointment Over Not Collaborating with Newey

Adrian Newey wanted to work with a legendary driver but chose Aston Martin over Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari in 2025, but Newey won’t get to work with him. Instead, Newey will team up with Fernando Alonso. How does Hamilton feel about this?

Not working with Newey ‘will not change anything’ for Hamilton

Hamilton and Newey both once said they’d love to work together. Now that it seems impossible, Hamilton isn’t too upset. “Honestly, no,” he said in Baku. “While I mentioned before that it’d be an honor to work with Adrian, I’ve been privileged to work with two championship-winning teams that didn’t have Adrian.”

Hamilton added, “Any team would be happy to have him, but he had to do what’s best for him. It doesn’t change my goals or focus; I still believe there’s a lot we can achieve.”

Fernando Alonso is thrilled about working with Newey at Aston Martin. The Spaniard called it “the team of the future” during media day in Baku.

Fans might think it’s a missed opportunity for Hamilton and Newey.

What do you think about these changes?
