Leclerc Reveals Weekend Conversations with Hamilton

In 2025, Charles Leclerc will have a new teammate at Ferrari, as Lewis Hamilton will replace Carlos Sainz.

Leclerc shared with Sky Sports what he and Hamilton discuss during a Formula One weekend. He mentioned that he can’t tell Hamilton much about Ferrari’s progress right now. “This [Hamilton joining Ferrari] is a very little part of our discussions because obviously he’s still 100% focused on his season this year in Mercedes. So we cannot exchange about everything yet.”

Most of their conversations are about personal interests rather than racing details. “I think 80% or 90% of what we speak of is more about private stuff and just about how life is going and music and all of these kind of things, which is always nice,” Leclerc noted.

Hamilton has had intense rivalries in the past but gets along well with George Russell now. He often says Valtteri Bottas was his favorite teammate. The fact that Hamilton and Leclerc are already chatting on weekends makes team principal Frederic Vasseur happy.

What does Leclerc expect from Hamilton joining Ferrari?

Leclerc is excited to have a new teammate in 2025 after competing with Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz before. “It’s a huge opportunity to learn from the best ever, as well as a huge motivation to show what I’m capable of. I’m really excited about this new challenge and we have a great relationship as well,” he said.

Fans might wonder how this new partnership will change the dynamics at Ferrari .

So, what do you think? Are you excited to see Hamilton join Ferrari?
