Leclerc Receives Special Olympic Honor After Monaco Win

Charles Leclerc will participate in the Olympics this week by carrying the Olympic torch in Monaco.

Leclerc is set to be the first person to carry the Olympic flame in Monaco. This event is scheduled for 2:15 PM on June 18 during his visit to the Principality.

Radio Monaco shared their excitement on X, saying, “We are still buzzing with his historic victory at the Monaco Grand Prix and the Formula 1 driver will have the honour tomorrow of carrying the Olympic flame during his visit to the Principality from 2.15pm.”

Leclerc Set for Olympic Torch Relay

The Olympics officially kick off in France on July 26. By taking part in this relay, Leclerc joins an elite group of Formula One drivers who have had this honor. Lewis Hamilton was the first F1 driver to carry the torch back in 2012 when London hosted the games. Now, Leclerc becomes Monaco’s very first torchbearer after winning his home Grand Prix at May’s end.
