Adrian Newey is moving from Red Bull Racing to Aston Martin.
The official announcement about this partnership will come soon, likely before the next Grand Prix in Azerbaijan. This decision will definitely make Lawrence Stroll, who owns the Aston Martin F1 Team, very happy.
Stroll: ‘Newey most talented person in F1’
After leaving Red Bull, Newey has made agreements with them about when he can reveal his new job. That time is almost here. Lawrence Stroll, Lance’s dad, can’t publicly celebrate just yet but hinted at the news while talking to Bloomberg.
“Adrian and I have been talking not only for months but actually for years. Adrian is clearly the most talented and gifted individual in F1 based on his track record and history. So I’d be very excited for Adrian to join our team, as I think every other F1 team on the grid would feel exactly the same,” said Lawrence Stroll.
It’s still unknown what position Newey will take at Aston Martin. The team already has Dan Fallows as technical director, Enrico Cardile (formerly Ferrari) as chief technical director, and Andy Cowell (ex-Mercedes) as CEO. Making sure all these experts work together smoothly might be tricky.
Fans might wonder how this change will affect the team’s performance.
