Latest Victory of Lewis Hamilton in Formula 1 Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton has won 103 Formula 1 races, but it’s been a while since his last victory. His most recent win was on December 5, 2021, at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

From 2007 to 2021, Hamilton won at least one race each season, starting with his first win in Canada during his rookie year. However, Mercedes fell behind Red Bull, Ferrari, and McLaren after rule changes in 2022. Max Verstappen has dominated races since then.

Despite Mercedes’ struggles, Hamilton stays motivated. George Russell claimed the team’s only win in 2022. If Hamilton wins again soon, it will mark one of the longest gaps between victories for any driver.

Dominance at Mercedes

Mercedes excelled with new turbo-hybrid engines and quickly became the fastest team. From 2014 to 2016, Hamilton mainly competed against Nico Rosberg. By the Chinese Grand Prix in 2014, he had secured his 25th victory.

In both 2014 and 2015 seasons combined, he won ten times each year but faced a tough challenge from Rosberg in 2016. Despite winning four consecutive races towards the end of that season and achieving his 50th career win at the USA Grand Prix, an engine issue in Malaysia cost him dearly—losing the title by just five points.

Hamilton also faced competition from Vettel and Ferrari in subsequent years but still managed to stay ahead as Mercedes proved stronger during crucial moments. By early 2020s start , he had already racked up an impressive tally of wins with Schumacher’s record within reach.

Fans might think this dry spell is unusual given Hamilton’s history of success.

Records tumble, and then the wins dry up

The year 2020 was perhaps their peak; records fell left and right as they equaled Schumacher’s tally at Eifel Grand Prix before surpassing it two weeks later in Portugal! With eight wins under his belt by season-end though not enough against Verstappen who clinched World Championship amidst intense rivalry—new regulations have since seen him stuck on those same old numbers: no more than a hundred-three Grands Prix victories yet achieved…
