Jordan Criticizes Verstappen’s Penalty as Unjustified

The recent series of races stirred up quite a bit of drama with penalties flying left and right. Lando Norris got slapped with one after going off track during his battle with Max Verstappen at the US Grand Prix, and then Verstappen himself faced two 10-second penalties in Mexico. Eddie Jordan has a few thoughts on this mess.

“When you’re spending so much money in such a top-tier sport, we need to be careful not to end up like football’s VAR,” Jordan shared on his Formula For Success podcast. “We need fairness and skilled people, like lawyers, to make sure things are right.”

During the podcast, Jordan also mentioned that drivers should talk more with stewards. This way, they can trust who’s making the calls. “Then you don’t have the annoyances Verstappen has been talking about,” he added, calling Verstappen’s penalties in Mexico “nonsense.”

Fans might wonder if all these penalties are just ruining the fun.

“I watch these exciting battles on screen,” Jordan said, “and suddenly there’s a five-second penalty or a 10-second penalty. It’s just so boring.”

What do you think about all these racing penalties?
