In the middle of a stellar debut season, Isack Hadjar seems totally relaxed about his Formula 1 future. A seat at Racing Bulls appears locked in for 2026, but could he actually end up at Red Bull Racing alongside Max Verstappen?
Summer is usually when all the big moves happen in Formula 1. With Max Verstappen likely staying put at Red Bull, George Russell signing with Mercedes, and Andrea Kimi Antonelli probably doing the same, most of the excitement around driver changes has fizzled out.
## Hadjar plays it cool on future plans
But there’s still that empty spot next to Verstappen at Red Bull. After his impressive season, Hadjar is widely considered the frontrunner.
When asked about his future in Hungary, the Frenchman kept his cards close to his chest.
“You know how fast things move around here in F1,” he said. “It’s too early.”
Hadjar isn’t sweating the details or timeline for a decision.
“I don’t really care when clarity comes, because I feel very safe and I’m happy driving F1 cars.”
## Last year’s nail-biter
Things were completely different just a year ago. Hadjar was one of the last drivers confirmed for the F1 grid.
“It’s been very uncertain, very stressful. I was fighting for F2 at the time, so I was trying to give my best,” he recalled. “And to be fair, I didn’t know until I got called.”
The uncertainty took its toll, but everything worked out in the end.
“So it’s been a tough ride, but they made the right decision, so I’m happy,” Hadjar laughed.
His confidence now stands in stark contrast to last year’s anxiety – a sign of just how much he’s proven himself in his rookie season.
