Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen is upgrading his ride in the sky with a stunning new private jet that’ll make his global travels a whole lot easier.
The four-time world champion just picked up a 2022 Falcon 8X, a major step up from the Falcon 900EX he’s been using since 2020.
Here’s what makes this new jet special: it can fly nearly 12,000 kilometers without needing to refuel. That’s enough to get from Europe to Asia or South America in one straight shot.
For a busy F1 driver bouncing between race weekends, that’s a game-changer. No more refueling stops eating into his schedule.
The new aircraft keeps the same sleek look as his previous jet, but with one key difference – it’s registered as PH-UTL, which fans have decoded as “Unleash The Lion,” a fitting motto for the Dutch racing star.
Verstappen’s no stranger to luxury air travel. He bought his first private jet – the Falcon 900EX – from Virgin billionaire Richard Branson for about €12 million back in 2020. That plane could only manage about 7,400 kilometers before needing to top up the tanks.
He’s known for being pretty generous with his private transport too. Other F1 drivers, especially his buddy Lando Norris, often catch rides with him to and from race weekends.
The upgrade comes at a perfect time, with F1’s calendar getting more packed each year and races spanning every corner of the globe. For someone who needs to stay fresh and focused between races, cutting down on travel time and stress is worth every penny.
While the price tag of the new Falcon 8X hasn’t been revealed, these jets typically cost north of €45 million. But when you’re the defending world champion, traveling in style is just part of the job.
