Horner Confident: ‘Constructors Championship Still Wide Open’

Red Bull is still in the fight for the constructors’ championship, even though they trail McLaren by 49 points. This year has been tougher for them compared to their previous two seasons of dominance.

Currently, Red Bull holds third place with 544 points, behind Ferrari with 577 and McLaren leading at 593. Last year was a different story as they finished with a whopping 860 points. Although they started strong this season, their RB20 car began to falter, allowing other teams like McLaren and Ferrari to catch up and pass them.

Horner’s Optimism for Red Bull’s Comeback:

Christian Horner remains hopeful that Red Bull can close the gap: “Yeah, it’s tricky. I mean, we had a very strong start, but then other teams have hit very strong form over the summer months, and it’s only recently that we’ve started to get real performance back on the car, winning the sprint race in Austin, and now the Grand Prix obviously in Interlagos in Brazil,” he shared.

Even with their challenges midway through the season, Horner believes a strong finish could secure their seventh title: “But, still all to play for, three Grand Prix, one sprint race still to go so still plenty of points available,” he concluded.

Fans might think that Red Bull’s comeback seems like a tall order given the current standings.

With just a few races left and many points up for grabs, anything can happen. What do you think will be the outcome?
