Herbert Predicts Norris Will Rebound in 2025: Confident He Can Outperform Verstappen

The Brazilian GP was a tough blow for Lando Norris in the drivers’ championship race. Former driver Johnny Herbert thinks catching Max Verstappen this season is now impossible for Norris, but he believes Norris will be ready to compete again next year.

Lando started strong with pole position on Sunday morning, but things went downhill in the rainy afternoon at Interlagos. He lost the lead to George Russell on Lap 1 and got overtaken by Verstappen during a red flag. Two mistakes at restarts pushed him down to finish sixth.

Johnny Herbert shared his thoughts with Safest Betting Sites, saying, “Lando has had to play catch up and that is very difficult to do. He has been chipping away at Max’s lead but the points lead now means the title is out of reach unless Max has a dreadful run of bad luck which won’t happen.” Fans might feel that Lando’s efforts this year deserve more recognition.

Herbert also mentioned how Norris should focus on the positives from this year. “Lando has driven so well, got poles and improved massively. He has a great chance of starting next year very strongly and if he can capitalise on that as Max did this year, then who knows what could happen,” he added. It’s clear there’s more to come from both Lando and Max.

In Las Vegas, Verstappen could secure his fourth title since there are only 84 points left to grab this season, and he’s already 63 points ahead.

‘Norris Ready for 2025’

Herbert thinks McLaren and Norris missing out wasn’t just about playing catch-up after Red Bull’s struggles. “McLaren and Lando missed out on seven points in Hungary because they let Piastri win,” he pointed out. These are lessons they need to learn for next season. Racing is unpredictable, after all!

Herbert believes that Norris will be prepared to challenge Verstappen again next year. “McLaren will learn for next year and have a stronger mindset. Lando will go into 2025 knowing he can beat Max,” he said confidently. There are other young talents like Oscar and George who are also getting better.

What do you think? Can Lando bounce back stronger next time?
