Lando Norris clinched the Dutch Grand Prix with ease, leaving Max Verstappen trailing by over 20 seconds. McLaren’s new upgrades after the summer break seem to be paying off.
With nine races left, Verstappen holds a 70-point lead over Norris. Lewis Hamilton shared his thoughts on this at Monza. “There’s a lot of points still up for grabs, so it’s not impossible,” said Hamilton. “Max probably just needs to finish second in each race to win, while Norris would need to win every race and have some luck on his side.”
Hamilton also talked about McLaren’s chances in the constructors’ standings. He finds it thrilling that McLaren might win the constructors’ title. “I was there when we last won it, though it was taken away from us. We won it performance-wise that year, and I don’t think there’s been another since,” he said. Currently, McLaren is 30 points behind Red Bull Racing.
Hamilton wants exciting battle:
Hamilton himself prefers a tight contest until the season’s end. “A close battle would be great for everyone, especially the fans,” he mentioned. “With their performance last weekend, maybe they could make it happen.” Fans might think this news is quite interesting!
What do you think? Could Norris catch up to Verstappen?
