Lewis Hamilton‘s father is bringing back the beloved V10 engines with an exciting new racing series that promises to shake up motorsport.
Anthony Hamilton, dad of seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, just announced his own championship called ‘HybridV10′ – and yes, those iconic V10 engines are making a comeback.
“HybridV10 is an independent global motorsport festival and racing series built around live, single-seater, competitive racing designed to restore emotion, innovation, and opportunity to the sport in a modern, open, and accessible way,” Anthony explained on Instagram.
The series aims to create something completely different from current racing formats.
“HybridV10 combines high-impact racing with technology, culture, and fan participation, delivered through destination festival events around the world,” he added.
What makes this championship special? Anthony has a clear vision for what racing should be.
“HybridV10 is founded on a simple principle: a return to authentic racing with real sound, genuine competition, open opportunity, and disciplined cost control delivered through clear, transparent structures, free from unnecessary complexity.”
This announcement comes just weeks after Anthony finally joined social media. “After all these years of not understanding social media I’m now on it,” he wrote in his first post.
The V10 engines hold a special place in racing fans’ hearts. Even current F1 champion Max Verstappen has repeatedly said they simply sound much better than today’s power units.
The timing couldn’t be more interesting as F1 continues to evolve with hybrid technology while many fans yearn for the raw, visceral experience that made them fall in love with motorsport in the first place.
Could this new series capture what many feel has been missing from modern racing?
