Lewis Hamilton will ‘deliver’ at Ferrari despite tough first season, says Ross Brawn
“Lewis is a pretty determined character and has shown resilience in the past, so there’s no reason why he won’t deliver,” says former Ferrari boss Ross Brawn, weighing in on Hamilton’s challenging debut year with the Italian team.
The seven-time world champion shocked the racing world by leaving Mercedes after 12 seasons to join Ferrari. It was a move that had fans buzzing with excitement.
But things haven’t gone according to plan.
With just two races left in the season, Hamilton sits on 152 points without a single Grand Prix podium. His only highlight? A sprint race win in China earlier this year.
Brawn, who played a key role in bringing Hamilton to Mercedes back in 2013, isn’t worried about the long-term picture.
“I just hope that Ferrari get it right with the new rules,” he added.
It’s worth remembering that Brawn knows a thing or two about Ferrari success. He spent ten years with the team during their dominant era in the early 2000s.
## Hamilton’s 2025 nightmare continues
Things hit a new low at the Las Vegas Grand Prix when Hamilton qualified dead last in P20.
He called the session “useless.”
Though he fought back to finish P8 in the race (after McLaren’s double disqualification bumped him up), Hamilton sounded defeated when discussing next year’s prospects.
The 40-year-old admitted there’s little confidence about the team’s 2026 car, raising questions about how much longer he’ll stick around in Formula 1.
Former Haas team boss Guenther Steiner thinks Hamilton needs “a lift” next season if he’s going to continue his F1 career.
For a driver used to standing on the top step of the podium, this year’s struggles must feel like a world away from his glory days at Mercedes.
