Hamilton Player Admires Verstappen: ‘A True Winner’

Max Verstappen inspires many young fans, and even top athletes admire him.

Jurriën Timber, who used to play for Ajax and now plays for Arsenal, told The Mirror that he sees Verstappen as a role model. Last year, Timber moved from Ajax to Arsenal. People thought he would help Arsenal win the Premier League again after many years. But his first season didn’t go well because he hurt his knee in the first game of the season. He only played in the first and last game of that season.

Timber Looks Up to Verstappen

Despite his injury, Timber has a winning spirit. He admires other great athletes like Max Verstappen, who has been the Formula 1 world champion for three years straight. “I like to look at winners,” said Timber. “In the NBA you see them a lot, but also you look at Max Verstappen…”

Timber added that watching Verstappen’s interviews after races amazes him: “You see his interviews sometimes after races and you are like ‘wow’ this guy is such a big winner and I love to see that.” Fans might find it interesting how much admiration athletes have for each other.

However, they don’t agree on everything. For example, which team is best in the Netherlands? Verstappen loves PSV while Timber played against PSV when he was with Ajax. Now though, Timber plays for Lewis Hamilton‘s favorite club!

What do you think about athletes looking up to each other?
